I am currently noticing a number of new registrations from Facebook users who want to use Friendica as a refuge.
In doing so, I am repeatedly confronted with two entry barriers, which can be easily overcome, however, as there are settings for this. However, these must be set up by each user themselves, which is extremely difficult for newcomers to Friendica.
These settings are:
- Stay local (users do not expect to lose focus on their profile with every click)
- Endless scrolling (users are irritated by page pagination)
It would therefore be a huge relief for new users if these functions could be changed from ‘disabled’ to ‘enabled’ for new accounts. This would greatly increase the acceptance of Friendica among these users. The myth that Friendica is complicated stems largely from these two default settings.
Perhaps these settings already exist or can be configured via the database?
